Title: Busy night, paneer and ice cream
Post by: Curryandchips on June 01, 2006, 13:47:31
Had an industrious session in the kitchen last night. It started with paneer, an Indian soft cheese, which I adore, and often choose in restaurants/balti houses as an alternative to chicken or meat.

I found a suitable recipe on the net ...

then set to, within an hour the cheese was strained and sitting in a bowl awaiting use. Our intended use is to make matar paneer tonight, using an invented recipe. This will accompany some chicken curry, courtesy of Mrs Curry ... and the normal range of additions one expects with Indian food. And how better to finish off than with home made 'kulfi', ie rhubarb crumble ice cream, as detailed elsewhere on this board ...

This is the second time making this, so it has already had family approval  :P
