this is the ONE nice thing in the upstairs neighbours garden (apart from the two vacant beds that have now been composted and planted up ) :o

For a moment I wondered if they were alstroemeria, but maybe not.  The flowers almost look like azaleas......

sorry, should have said it's on a bush that i (ahem cough) pruned rather harshly last year.

defo not alstroemeria as i've got a wee pot of those ......... i'll have a google of azaleas.

They obviously don't need a lot of major care as it was rather butchered last autumn and I've totally ignored it since then.  It lives in solid clay and has had no feeding whatsoever.  The kind of plant i think i could warm to.

It just needs a neutral to acid soil to grow happily.
