I have a clump of this that I have just taken out of a pot, & I was wondering what the best way of dividing it was. I'm very tempted to just put the spade through it. Would that be bad? :-\

It would be fine - I regularly plant bits that have been dug up by accident and snapped away from the rest of the clump.
