Title: Feeding brew
Post by: ksia on May 26, 2006, 18:19:42
Hi,

...perhaps this should be in receipes but as it's not for me but the plants here goes...

I've made 2 brews for feeding the plants

1, comfry leaves in a bucket with water
2, cow manure in a bucket with water

Am I ok to use both on all veg/ fruits or are there some which would like one more then the other or do I just alternate each time? I'd just mix a little in my watering can to use.

As you can guess I didn't feed anything last year, my first year, so without beginners luck this year I thought I'd better do something!

thanks
Karen

I think you can use both on most things but fruiting plants - eg beans, tomatoes, squash etc will benefit from the comfrey.  There is also some research showing that is you spray potato foliage with it, it is a good prevention against blight as the organisms is contains fight the blight spores.
