today i dismantled the old compost heap on my plot made out of old doors to replace it with a plastic one from the council. during this process i accumulated a large bucket full of snails and slugs. At he end of the job i didnt know what to do with them as i didnt want to let them out anywhere near anyone else's plot. i thought about letting them out in the woods but in the end i took them to the tip with the old doors and put the whole thing bucket and all in the household waste container! what would you have done?
jumped on them. :-[
doh! I knew you would say that. ;D
Well, I'd have done exactly like you 8)
i saved every one i found on my plot last year, and set them free in the graveyard next door, (flung them over the wall) no blue pellets either, they came back because they knew i was a soft spot, and feasted on everything i tried to grow. i wouldn't have minded so much if they all ate from the one veg and then moved onto another, but they had a wee chew at everything. this year i'm taking no prisoners. blue pellets in margarine tubs ( curry's great idea), and jump on any that refuse to die with dignity.( i just make sure my boys don't see me).
alishka who?
emmm....now realize that I was being a bit enigmatic ::).....think I'll remain a Woman of Mystery.. ;D
I'd have comitted genocide on the spot.
Slugocide. but they are so squelchy and crunchy. eauukk.
I have to say with slugs, I'd have done exactly the same. I hate them. Snails on the other hand, well I hate to admit it and please don't tell anyone, but..... i actually like them :-[
I can remember collecting loads to race on the bonnet of dad's car (he was NOT happy) when i was very little.
I think that I would have taken them for a very long car ride and let them out for a breath of fresh air in the middle of nowhere.
Mind you, if the little bu**ers eat all my veg, maybe I will become very hard hearted.
