Title: Draper Water Butt Pump
Post by: tim on May 25, 2006, 11:05:01
'Search' is busy so must put it here.

Mentioned the spec of this pump - 'MUST be on full flow = 3.2cum/hr'. & my argument with the makers about the 'Regulating Tap' on the 'swan neck'. 'Anything less will burn out the pump'. But, later, 'you can't burn out the pump because there is a thermal cut-out'??

Eventually told that it 'regulates' ON/OFF. Very advanced!! Very refined. Very misleading. I bought it specifically for irrigation, where a controlled flow is essential.

BUT - you saw me, earlier,  watering-in my weedkiller on the lawn? That was at .3cum/hr. And it took 45 min. Draper declines to comment.

I just LOVE British business!

This appears to me to be an immature design, compounded by the confusion within the help desk, giving you conflicting explanations. I think I have disclosed my views elsewhere too.

Anyway, this brings me to my 1000th post, so I feel like one of the big boys now !

Trading Standards? They're always good for getting one's money back (if that's the preferred route)?
