Can I grow my shirley tomatoes outside?I've read they are suitable for a cold or heated greenhouse but I don't have the room so I want to put them on my plot. Can anyone help please?
Not sure, could you make a hot box for them? Mine is old sash windows, (I have a friend who is a builder and he regularly reclaims some) but you can use polythene......
fly - like SO MANY, you don't say where you are??
Most toms will ripen outside - given sun & shelter. Shirley, being an 'early' variety, has a better than average chance of success. Watch out for the very heavy first truss!!
