Just returned from the loire, the gardens here are slightly tasty  :o

Adrian, after you have put your attachment in the box, click the "more attachments" box to the right of it.

We love it in the Loire and have gone a few times, you can see some of the gardens at Chateau de Chenonceau we took in August 2003 here:

Look at the Holiday 2003 Album.

The formal gardens were very simply but effective, The Kitchen Garden was massive and great to look around. I loved the step over apples at the edges of the beds.

Thanks Pauline for that info, fancy not seeing that  ??? Any way here, (hopefully) are 2 more Villandry pics, the beds in front of the gardeners are filled with lettuce plants, seemed a shame to spoil the show by pulling them up to use, but what a waste. ::)

I wonder how many peasants had to be kept in poverty to pay for that lot.
