These have been growing well since late March. Since early May, flowers have appeared and in the last 10 days, peas have appeared (yippee)......but they have yet to plump up, they still are flat like Mange Tout. Is there anything I need to do to help them along and/or is there a reason for the peas not growing.

I put some in overwinter, they grew well but then all rotted off inspring, put some FrueHeinrich round peas in early march, direct sown and they are now in flower....

SMP, you're lucky - all your peas need is Rain and Time :)
Well, they have had time, rain and my patience ;) and yesterday they rewarded me with 2 whole tablespoons of peas, which were served with the baby carrots, to add colour and interest to the plate ;) or to bulk up the meagre portions if you prefer ;D

Your peas now seem to be giving you a few.I was always told by my dad that you you should warter them when the pods have appeared as this helps them to swell. Good luck.
If you're really impatient, you can always do peas-in-the-pod? AKA Mangetout?
Or even the pea-sprouts?
Tim, the peas have finally done their thing and rewarded my patience with a big bag full of peas, enough for decent portions for all four of us for Sunday lunch, even allowing for No2 son's munching while he podded them. ;)

my peas are doing well now - albeit they are all over as well. after the initial flowering burst they have all set fruit which takes a while to swell - by which time they can no longer be bothered to flower.
i might make a second sowing of peas now and have more peas in two months time this way. worth a try? my late ones had mildew though last year....
It's certainly worth a try; I'm about to make a second sowing myself, rather later than I'd originally intended.
