planted mid April - when would they be ready to lift?

I left my Charlottes in the ground for much longer (just forgot to harvest) and they grew into superb specimens. They are a wonderfully tasy waxy potato and actually improve with flavour after keeping for a while. :P

Yes, a superb potato, but I didn't consider them to be waxy at all, mine tended to collapse very readily when boiled ...

Charlotte are one of my all time favourites, Rosy, and you may find this British Potato Council site of interest.
