Couldn't resist posting this, I love the way it changes colour as the flowers open  :)

I have a very similar, but rather smaller, one which is similarly covered in bloom. The amount of bloom varies from one year to the next, but it's looking really good right now.

I like lilacs, there the alkaline equivalent of rhodos at this time if year, arent they?

I have one in my garden propagated from a sucker of an old tree that was about to be cut down + removed (back in 2001!). It has flowered for the first tme this year. The only trouble with them is that unless you have a compact variety they flower so high up - I nearly missed mine flowering because of this.

Lovely!  A chap around the corner from us has one grown like a tree on a single stem up the street light.  It looks amazing at the moment and certainly a dam site better view from his lounge window than a concrete lampost!
