With no rain in sight, had to water in the weedkiller.

Did a 50'x50' lawn on one 'tankful'!

I meant to ask a question as well - of those who may have bought a Draper butt pump.

Just to be safe, I sought assurance that one could use the control tap to control the flow. Seemed reasonable to me??

"YES, THE OUTPUT OF THE PUMP IS 2.2 M CUBE/HOUR AND THIS MUST BE MAINTAINED

OTHERWISE THE PUMP WOULD BURN OUT.

KIND REGARDS

BOB (HELPLINE)"

"If you insert a t piece into the outlet pipe, apply two valves you could then reduce the flow rate for irrigation and the other outlet could feed back into the water butt consequently maintaining the flow from the pump 2.2 m cube / hour.

Kind regards

Francesca (sales)"

Clear? Or is it me??

yes thats clear. you have to feed 2.2 cu m through the pump to work properly, but what francesca is proposing is splitting your hose and feeding half of the water back into the tank, and only weatering using 1.1 cu m per hour.
