Title: Best temperature for beetroot?
Post by: sally_cinnamon on May 04, 2006, 16:22:16
Hello all,
As well as growing some veggies at home I have taken a few into work as our office is a mini-greenhouse (big windows with continual central heating and beaming sunshine).  One of then veggies is beetroot and recently it has wilted - could it be too hot?  ALso the mint, which started off marvellously, is now lagging behind my mint at home which is in a cooler place with less sun - what is the norm for these?

It would make sense if they were too hot. The only thing I know for sure is that Lettuce seed won't even germinate when the soil is too warm... on those rare weeks in August!
