it comes in threes alright this bank holiday the clutch went on my marea after i fixed the exhaust that went last week my oh car has developed a right rattel in the engene it never rains but it pours the best bit is with the clutch i haven't got a clue of what has happend to the clutch all i know is i pulled up at lights and it wont go In gear (hell it was a pig to push heavy very heavy) i think thats whats bugging me the most i heard no noises bangs of any sort so now its time to ask for my daddies help if i cant fix it hopefull he can all that i need now is to tow it back to mine r my dads house i am counting my self very lucky that my dad can (and i can ) fix cars and that he has a recovery truck ( his hobby now ) to help me out of a really costly weekend so sorry for the rant and rave but I'm sat at home car less trying to think of what the problem could be and the best way to fix it so for a few Min's distraction i came on hear read a few posts and i fell much better thanks all ( I'm mad i know )
Oh bad luck loulou, it's difficult not having a car to rely on especially with kids :-\
You're lucky your dad is good with motors, hopefully he'll help get you on the road again before too long without breaking the bank :-*
Glad you felt better after a rant! ;)
thanks well at the mo dad not turned up he must still be in bed (he works nights ) so i guess ill keep rattling my tine brain as to what went wrong this time ??? and hopefull it will be fixed by Monday r Tuesday r even Wednesday lol
loulou Hope you are soon on the road again. (without too much expense).
Keeping a car on the road can be pricy and I always think I am so lucky. My 19year old grandson is now a fully qualified mechanic and does all my servicing and repairs..
I hope the male members don't read the next bit. I have just changed to an estate car , more room for the dog. Grandson has fitted one of those reversing censors, all started out as a laugh but I think it is brilliant. LOL ;D ;D
my dad came reversing down the road at 3pm my kids shouted your cars here it looks funny they then realised it was granddad who was bringing it and the screaming and shouting brought all the other houses out to look they watched with amazement (now the scary part )my 16 year old brother got in the drivers seat and the car started to role of backwards every few seconds the car would jerk (like my brother had hit the brakes ) i was shaking the car came off with no problems then i realise that dad had a electric winch he was doing it all not my brother he was holding the steering wheel straight god to say my heart was in my mouth the kids then asked if my dad would put the car on the back of the recovery truck and bring it off again ( and being gramdad who dose anything for the girls he did twice each time one of my girls got to sit on uncles knee whilst the car rolled off it was well worth the wait just for the smile on the girls faces to see the recovery truck unloading a car and they haven't stop-ed talking about how they rolled the car off the truck for me the way my girls are going on you would think they just won the lotto iv got some skills with regards to fixing cars in the last 6 months iv put 2 compleat exhausts on changed a full fount end on a punto IE lights wings 2 bonnet iv also sprayed them the right colour put a wing on a uno also sprayed it and repaired the arches on the uno i just have a confidence problem i know i can do it but get very shaky just b4 i start once I'm doing I'm fine ( i think I'm used to having dad watching ) all i have to do now is find the pipe and fixings for the clutch on my car and fix it oh well there goes my weekend again thanks for letting me rant and rave believe me it has helped and thanks for you replys i do wish id taken the mechanics course back in my collage days but i hope iv learnt enough from my dad and if he doesn't know then we look it up together which is gr8 thanks again from loulou

katenewbie i think it is best to change the lock completely on your punto (unless central locking ) then id ask a garage it means two keys but better to safe than sorry me and faulty locks ::) for me its a safety issue if i ever get the cars up running iv had one of those days i took a taxi down to the scrap yard ( heaven on earth )well nearly Lottie first then scrap yard and spent twenty min looking round then i got the bits for the punto and as luck would have it i found the bottle for the metro to stop it over heating i hope so tonight's job is to remove the old and let it drain over night all pray for no rain please only just got home and its time to put tea on and go and collect little one from school where dose the time go ??? thanks all for your replies
