Title: Any day now...
Post by: dandelion on May 03, 2006, 10:54:47
... my peony will flower :). 6 blooms this year! I've never had more than 1; it's still a young plant.

Have a guess: what colour will the flowers be?

They are yellow. It's a species: P. (try to pronounce this ;D!) Mlokosewitschii. I bought the plant 3 years ago from Beth Chatto's garden.

In that case, Greenwizard,  I'll provide you with some tulips to drool over in the meantime ;D. Picture taken 5 minutes ago!

Two of mine look as though they're going to bloom, and two more have unconvincing little buds which will probably go nowhere. I've only had the one, a typical red officinalis, flower before. And wonder of wonders, my Arum creticum, which I dug about and upset last winter when I was clearing ground elder out of its bed, has a flower coming. It's nothing like the plant it ought to be, but it's the first bud in seven years.
