Thought I'd post this pic of common Primula auriculas, funny how the yellow ones seem more vigorous than the other colours!

They are lovely Jenny. What is your secret - do they have special needs. Never had much success with them.
delightful :)
It is one of the few primulas which do well in this garden. They do not seem to need the humidity as much as others.
I grow them on pots because the slugs seem to attack them if put into the ground. I think when Palustris talks about humidity, he's hit it on the head - mine aren't kept damp or anything, in fact they are in a pretty free draining soil in the pot.
Tend to mix 2 parts grow bag compost with one part John Innes No.1 (or sterilised clay soil and leafmould mix) and 1 part grit for perennials in pots, find it holds moisture without getting claggy and provides aeration too.
But - wish I'd taken a picture of them over the winter period - they did look straggly and sorry for themselves, but they soon perk up in the spring !
Lovely pics Jenny. ;D ;D I love auriculas but have nowhere to grow them at the moment. My favourite ones are green but I have only ever sen them on TV and never in a garden centre. :(
Thanks for the info Jenny. I will give them another go :)
