Title: Sophora micropylla "Sun King"
Post by: jennym on May 01, 2006, 12:21:13
I do like to see Sophora when it flowers in the spring - saved some seeds from last year, wonder if anyone has propagated it from seed?

Ours died this winter despite being in the most sheltered south facing place in the garden.

According to my expert " Flowering shrub " it's normally propagated from a semi-ripe cutting.  Got any cuttings then?

Well, it's a big enough shrub to take some from :)
I guess I would need to wait a little while for the growth on the shoots to harden a bit? In anycase, if either would like cuttings, please pm.

I have one of these growing against my fence & absolutely love it. It is so cheerful covered in vibrant yellow bells at this time of year. I even made it my avatar!
