Title: Can i put sweetcorn out yet?
Post by: kippers garden on April 30, 2006, 18:58:08
My dad tells me he has planted out his sweetcorn already but i thought that they are not frost hardy.

I have some to put out which i have grown from seed in pots, however i don't want the frost to kill them!

Has anyone else planted theirs out?

mine are still on windowsill!  Be careful about anything you plant out as night temps are forecast as 2 degrees tomorrow and tuesday.

Still bringing mine along in pots - and I started here (E. Mids) a couple of weeks earlier than 2005 too.

Better germination than last year tho.

my sweetcorn is on windowsills at the moment -

i have prepared a bed for it and covered it over with black plastic (to warm up the soil) hoping to get them out next weekend.

fingers crossed... (can't wait to taste my own sweetcorn) ;)

wonder how long I have to wait  ::) ??? LOL
