I have sown french beans and runner beans which have all just come up. I want to move them from the sunny windowsill to my new mini greenhouse. will they be ok or do i need to harden them off a bit first?

to be honest.....no!!!....it means I have to go back, read the message/question all over again to make sure I've got things the right way round ???......or is it just me who 'can't cope' with these incredibly short answers?

The only thing you need to keep your eye on Sarah is the possibility of frosts. The mini greenhouses don;t really offer any significant protection against the really chilly nights.
Hi Sarah - so glad you asked this question - I couldn't remember quite where it was we'd talked about them before :-[.....
I've now moved them outside into the shared greenhouse where they seem to be growing a bit!...they at least get some sun out there which they didn't do indoors - they're still very tiny plants tho :(....maybe I expect too much too soon?
I've also got 3 very healthy looking courgette plants with quite big leaves (now a 3rd leave just appearing between the other two) but the stems are very long....maybe I should move them outside to the greenhouse too (if I can find room)
re less or more words....I guess I just like words so feel 'disappointed' with such short answers!
HP, if your courgettes seem to be too spindly, you can resow out in the g'house - they'll be through in days. I had to replace 2 which I started off indoors for this reason - they've now caught up the 2 which were sown indoors which were OK :) (you can't repot burying the stem as you do toms - they rot off - or rather, most rot off - I got away with one surviving, but I think that was a bit of a fluke.
thanks Lish....might sow one or two more (just in case) when I say spindly...maybe that's not quite right....the stems are quite thick but rather tall!!...the tallest is 3 1/2" high the other two round about 3" high - they were sown on the 17th and germinated quickly.....the leaves are big & healthy looking :-\...never having grown them from seed before, just not sure!
could it be because they do not get any sun at all on my windowsill and are 'reaching out' for it?.......I think I should put these 3 out in the greenhouse & see what happens...
realise this ought to be under 'courgettes' heading but we sort of drifted into it.....
