Lovely Tim, I have been wondering when they would pop up - must have a walk along one of my favourite lanes on Monday to see if they are flowering there too! :)
I have those in my garden, altho they have finished flowering really now. They used to be everywhere and were quite a pain, but now they live in my woodland garden and looked stunning a couple of weeks ago under the apple trees before the aquilegias zoomed into growth! Lovely.
Almost as big a pain as ground elder and couch grass, they are EVERYWHERE in this garden, even in the lawns. We got them in white and pink and every shade in between as well as the normal blue. Thugs!!!
Not sure if it is a weed but I can think of worse ones. Would you like to swap it for my ground elder or perhaps my daughters horse tail ???
You're all comparing this lovely, fragrant delight with Speedwell or Celandine??
Yes when it grows as rampantly as the above mentioned and smothers other plants in the process!

Here is mine from a couple of weeks ago. As I said, it was a real pain when we first moved in, and I still pull it out by the bucket load, but now I attempt to keep it under control. Another thug in my opinion is Bugle! But a pretty one.
Lots in my lawn at the moment, but it is pretty! busy_lizzie
Oh, dear!
Tim....I know this isn't the right place really to put this question but....
where is that lovely photo of your potato in the pot/bucket please?...can remember contributing to the thread but it just seems to have vanished :o....but I'm obviously not looking in the right place.
I've hunted time & again for it and just can't find it! >:(
See above!!
oh dear....obviously am totally dense :(.......can't see any reference to potato in pot in above replies.....please be more explicit Tim
where is the photo please?
I knew that would happen -
I meant above on the list - like Under Glass!!
:-[ ::) :-[ :-\ :-[ ;)
sorry Tim....have replied..........see above :-*
I think they are lovely...but then I haven't got any. Have Bugle but it doesn't like my garden very much. It spreads, dies off and then reforms in another little clump.
I have got a white variety, they are at the moment in bloom.
