Just back from a brilliant morning at the allotment (littleun is having his nap)
Gorgeous day on the north east coast. I almost feel sunburned! All our potatoes are now in, and the plot is coming along nicely. I kept the seed tatos too dark and the sprouts were a bit spindly. Hopefully they will grow ok though. Glad to have got them in while I can still (just about! ) bend over...baby due in 8 weeks. Last month we put in apple, pear, cherry and plum trees, most of them are now coming into bud. Hope everyone else is enjoying their allotment today! :D
It's great when you have a fab day at the allotment isn't it ;D
A bit damp on my plot this morning, but still very pleasant, and stuff is definitely growing now (the weeds are anyway). Just noticed the first of the potatoes are poking their noses out, so the hoeing up can start ...
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Just back from the plot. Put my last 3 rows of spuds in. Built slightly spindly looking staging up in the greenhouse and put more trays of seedlings on it.
Weeded some more of the o/w onion bed surgically, with latex gloves, on the grounds that if I do it VERY carefully now it will just need a hoe in the future! Battled with huge dandelions all over the place so that they don't seed everywhere.
All in all a great day!!
;)
It is so satisfying to be up at the lottie. This is what we used to dream about a month ago when the weather was so bad. Hope you aren't overdoing it C or B, - well done for being able to do so much in your delicate condition. ;) Keep well and have a happy birth day! busy_lizzie
Brilliant day - did lots of clearing - my compost heap is full. Damson tree in blossom, asparagus 2" and lots of tulips and Daffs out. Saw 2 butterflies and a huge toad. Don't know how to load the picture - a pity.
Hope it is another good day on Sunday.
Good night
