should my runner bean seedlings be behaving like triffids?
I am becoming a little scared to go into the spare room now, as every time I do another one has appeared ... I swear I can see them growing :o
They could be triffids, as all 3 types of seed were inherited, so I have no proof that they are actually runner beans at all ...
Might have to send OH in with a big stick when we come to repot them ;D
So if I suddenly go quiet and stop posting, you know why!
Make sure they have loads of light and keep the temp pegged back. They will be fine outside in the day at the moment.
Still a little early for me to sow as I aim for an early May planting out date.

Hmm, I wasn't expecting mine to grow quite this fast (sown 2 weeks ago and the tallest one is now pushing 8 inches) - mind you, last time I grew runners I was in Yorkshire (now in Herts) so I guess that will have made a difference.
If I can get close enough I will give them a stern talking to, and leave them out on the patio to reflect on their outrageous behaviour. ;D
Don't worry, triffids have very light seed with a silky 'parachute', quite unlike beans. No way to confuse the two.
My neighbour's already planted out his runner beans :o Mine are just sown.... hmmm
My husband has just reminded me it's not a competition.....

My runner beans have also been growing mad. They are in pots as they are dwarf beans however I have put them out during the day as it has been quite warm but the leaves have shrivelled a wee bit and lost some of their colour. an anyone tell me what has happened?
