Title: Wakehurst Place
Post by: sandersj89 on April 17, 2006, 20:20:55
Spent a lovely few hours wandering around Wakehurst Place in Sussex today, the weather was lovely and the place was heaving in the car park but once we were in inside the space meant people spread out and it did not feel too crowded.

The Magnolia’s did look amazing and the Rhododendrons are coming into their own but a few of the Camelia’s had been touched by frost. Most of the spring bulbs are just about over but the walled garden holds a lot of potential.

Still, it is a fantastic place to visit and I have to say the soup in the restaurant was as good as home made!

Must go there more often!

Yes, it is a lovely place to visit - they call it Kew in the Country. We try to get there about once a year, there's always lots to see.

I do believe it is free with my RHS card. Must visit it again sometime.
