Title: HELP need advice

i have just dug in manure in 2 plots and put sum spuds in one and onion in the other but ther is lots of space left i have 2 moor plots to do but i was thinking if i could but sum other things in with the spuds and onion like cabbeg sprouts parsnip and other things just dont know if i can mix them with it having lots of manour in the plots any tips pleasssss

hi sid. i'm quite new to having an allotment, and loads more people will post with a lot more knowledge than me, but i'm sure cabbages broccoli sprouts etc dont like manure.

thanks for the link i will try the beens its just a shame to waste all the ground i have put 5 stone of spuds in one plot and ther is loads of room so the beens can go ther thanks again

Hi Sid, I think as long as you firm them in well cabbage would do ok in manured ground .. I usually grow my caulies this way as I find it helps retain moisture.. Only things I wouldn't put in fresh manured ground  would be roots as in carrots,beetroot and parsnips etc... But make sure you firm them in  when planting .Cheers Jim.
