Title: first swallow
Post by: ipt8 on April 12, 2006, 21:53:09
I saw my first swallow yesterday and friend at work tell me they saw some last weekend, so I reckon spring must almost be here :D This was not too far from Dorking in Surrey.

Have not heard the cuckoo yet.

How about you ???????????????

Swallows!!  Wow!!  That's cheered me up tremendously  ;D
I was still suffering after the blizzard we had on Saturday  :o
I'm harking out for the cuckoos too.  I have heard a woodpecker drumming, but don't suppose he counts, does he??
So pleased the swallows are back though  :D

We saw two swallows yesterday over the Alver right next to the Solent, I reckon that they had just arrived for their hols!  Now I know that it's time to get the summer clothes out of the loft!

Swallows here in S E Monmouthshire for about a week.

I have only heard the Cuckoo once in the past five years. They are in serious decline.
