I have been trying to resize a photo in photobucket, but the edit thingy doesn't seem to make any difference to the pic size when posted.I'm sure it must be easy peasy, please can anyone help?
Frustrated of Essex. >:(
The resizing facility in PB is not that good. You would be better changing the size of your picture before you send it to PB.
OOOooooooh............ how do I do that ? :'(
The easiest way is to use MS photoeditor, which comes with XP although it has to be loaded manually.
Firstly size your image to the required size. I tend to set my horizontal size to about 5cm (or less). You will determine you own best settings by trial and error.
Secondly make sure that the file size is a sensible limit. For most online images less than 100K is adequate. You can set this by using Save As, and setting the JPG quality to the required setting. You can check the saved file size and adjust if necessary then resave.
Note, it is best to save as using a new file name, so you dont edit the master image.
You can do all this using alternative image editting packages, they tend to come with cameras as standard now?
Thanks, folks. sorted now. It's amazing what a bit of advice after a good nights sleep does!!!!! :)
On the Photo bucket site, click Edit, click resize. The 50% icon is already highlighted but re-click on it and save. This will reduce your pic by 50%.
Thanks, Kenkew, I don't think I saved it, which was probably the trouble.
I'm learning fast!!! :)
