This year I am trying to grow 4 varieties of chilli. What I can’t find anywhere is any indication of the likely height and spread of the mature plants. Can anyone advise? They will be going outside into a sheltered, south-facing and (hopefully) sunny spot.
The chillies are Cherry Bomb, Joe’s Long, one described as (HOT) Cayenne from Johnsons, and Tropical Heat from T&M.
I’m also a bit confused about the Tropical Heat. Reading the packet I thought there were 2 varieties i.e. Habanero and Scotch Bonnet, but on opening the packet I found the seeds all together, rather than in 2 separate sachets. So is “Tropical Heat†a distinct variety, like a cross of the other 2? If not, I would have liked to know which is which!

Cayenne: plant can reach up to a metre, but does not spread out that much, maybe only 50cm.
Cherry Bomb: an F1 (spit spit) so I have never grown it, but it is semi-compact so expect only 45-60cm height, 30-45cm spread.
Cayenne Joe's Long: expect 60-100cm, 35-50cm spread.
Tropical Heat: is just a blend of two colours of Scotch Bonnet and two of Habanero, id est the seeds are mixed together (annoying). Scotch Bonnet and habanero should be much the same as Cherry Bomb in size.
chilli plants average about 2' each way. some get bigger given ideal conditions. saying that, last year I grew spanish "padron" peppers (mild chillis) and they were only a foot high each.
Ive got about 50 aji chillies going this year, apparently they get to 4' each :o. Im going to eat a lot of chilli later this year!

Mine are generally taller than 2' but narrower.
Rocoto can grow to a couple of metres, a tree.
I grew Cherry Bomb last year in the greenhouse, much as amphibian said as regards the size.
Mixed them all up in the blender, and froze them in an ice tray, I'm still using them in chilli con carne etc. Very nice, quite hot but tasty as well. :)
I've got the Topical heat as well, but I got them from Alan Romans. 50p per packet there ;)
How long is a piece of String?-¬Habenero and Scotch Bonnet can go to 6ft or more as can Joe`s long-I know Cherry bomb is a hybrid-but it is just right for me-hot but not incendiary. The only `dwarf` chilli I have grown and liked is `Appache`
