We have used BF&B for ever. But I didn't realise until today that bone meal is non-u for farmers.
So - at HUGE expense - like peatfree things - http://www.naturalgardening.co.uk/natural_gardening_organic_fertilisers.phtml
£12 a bag, delivered.
I don't want to get involved in knee-jerk reactions. BF&B and bone meal are still available to the general public, and sold openly at our local market. If this stuff is possibly risky, then surely there must be some regulations on its circulation? Or am I being my normal naive self here?
Hmm, I recently heard that there was some concern over BF&B/bonemeal and the risk of BSE and other nasties. And I'd just bought a big box of the stuff.
I'm a bit windy about using it on the veg plot these days for the simple reason that no one truly knows what the real risks and long-term effects are (or if they do they're not telling us). Mashed spinal cord, anyone? Still, the dog seems to like it!
