I got up nice and early today & got the horse chucked just so I could spend rest of the day up the lottie especially as I wanted to get my onions in. And what did I find?????? Horror of horrors, woe and despair. Something has been at my sets and I've LOST THE LOT!!!
Whatever it was must have been determined as the sets were being stored in a plastic lidded box & I've not been able to salvage one single bulb. I had 3 x 25 of a white variety, red variety and yellow variety.
And now for the big question...........DOES ANYBODY OUT THERE HAVE ANY SPARE ONION BULBS IN NEED OF OFF-LOADING.
Instead of planting I've had to spend several hours visiting the like of Wilko's, Focus and several local, independant garden centres trying to get new stock, all with no success.
All I can offer at the moment in return is some homegrown sweetcorn seed (so I can't guarantee is germination). I had some partial cobs last so decided to have a go at producing my own seed. I put the cobs in the airing cupboard and let them dry out slowly then knocked the kernals off onto a tray. I can't remember the variety as I've thrown the packet having used up all the original seed
Thanks in advance
