Will alderman peas need protecting from frost? the packets says to sow outdoors in March but doesn't way whether or not to protect from the frost.
Don't plant till the soil's warmed up reliably; I'd leave it a couple of weeks yet unless you can give them a bit of protection. My peas will be going in under cloches, but it won't be till the week after next since I've got a load of other stuff to get out of the way first.
I put them in today, I'll cover them with cloches, thanks Robert :)
Cover them for sure-same as all peas just now. Alderman is a good one-second only to Hurst Green shaft IMO
Although it does no arm to cover peas it is not necessary to do so, planted a row of a variety called Misty 4 weeks ago and they are doing very well without protection
I've had them rot on me when planted early; better to be safe than sorry.
