Title: water butt extension pipe
Post by: Ricado on March 30, 2006, 20:07:08
Im looking to plumb in my water butt collection on downpipe, and need to bypass the shed, so the butt is 3m away.

I cannot find the correct piping.  It is the ribbed black pipe, with a corrugated look.

Inside dia 1 inch, total about 1 and a quarter inch.  Tried b&q and homebase, to no avail.

Any advice much appreciated

Thanks

Ricado, I can highly recommend this place:

For hoses the direct link is:

Word of warning -  I went to one of the stores to get one item and came back with a truckload of stuff and an overdraft - it's addictive!

couldnt wait or didnt want the hassle and expense of orderig the pipe, so i did it the cheap skate way.

I tapped the downpipe behind the shed, cable tied the outlet to a piece of metal and laid on top of shed, to let the water run down shed roof, into gutter and from gutter piped into water butt, BINGO !!

The only trouble was the rain was a little too hard and the water came off the roof so quick, some went straight over the top of the gutter  ???, still in normal conditions  ??? it should work.  But im still going to fix something on the gutter to stop the water shooting straight over the top.
