Title: Oriental saladini
Post by: dandelion on March 30, 2006, 19:57:16
I had a small sample packet of Oriental saladini which I've sown today. Does anyone have any experience of growing this? Does it need protection? Which pests should I watch out for? Slugs? Flea beetles?

My radishes and rocket have just germinated. I've never had a flea beetle problem with those in my garden. Are flea beetles likely to be a problem on the allotment?

The leaflet that comes with my organic veg box says that we will probably have holes in the salad they send as the only reliable non-chemical way of getting rid of flea beetles is death by drowning!

So fingers crossed for some thunderstorms  ;) ;D
