Title: Partial solar eclipse Weds 29th March
Post by: moonbells on March 28, 2006, 22:59:18
Hi folks

Anyone outside tomorrow morning with no cloud cover should see a partial solar eclipse. Starts about 10.45 and ends 12.20 with max at 11.30. (London timings)

Hope I get to see more than the last one!

Beautiful day here, sunny, and at the moment not a cloud in the sky in Whitley Bay, so will be looking out for it  (safely, of course). Thanks for letting us know.  :) busy_lizzie

Typical - almost total cloud cover around the London Bridge area at the moment! :(

Cheers,
Rob ;)

Was very cloudy here - with an hour to go I was sure I'd see nothing.  Ten minutes after start it suddenly went very clear and I got several piccies, then it coulded over and stayed cloudy.  Right on maximum eclipse, it mostly cleared for about 30s (mad clicking sounds from camera) and then went into cloud again. Didn't expect to see it again so packed up and went to car (had been on lotties! Best viewpoint) and it cleared again so I got some more.

I hasten to add that I use a proper eclipse filter!!!
