my pepper seedlings are looking incredibly healthy. they are growing in individual plastic drinking cups. will they need potting on before going out into growbags in summer (mid-june) or will they be happy to stay where they are until the final transplant? they are about 5cm (3") tall at the moment. ???
I think I would be inclined to do so, ...
if they are growing away well, they could quite well exhaust the goodies in the drinking cup too soon!
I usually pot them on.
I agree, they sound like they could become potbound very quickly. I use drinking cups a lot, mainly because there is a plentiful supply of used cups available, and think they would struggle to sustain a plant bigger than about 5 inches high.
will do...thanks for the replies
fb - I haven't sown mine yet - for the cold 'house!
honestly tim i've been really good this year not sowing things too early. i actually sowed the peppers a month later than they said on the pack. (as i am doing with all my seeds!) these babies are going outdoors under cloches.
I know!!

Hi
i sowed mine about 2 weeks ago and the first ones are just coming through.
I sowed in mid april last year but felt it was a little late so went for a head start this year. I new to this so experimentation is the answer
Same here, dicky - I sowed my peppers and chillies a couple of weeks ago and all the chillies are up, but the ordinary peppers? Not a peep!
Sowed my Peppers on the 21st of January, in my warm kitchen, then moved them into my bedroom soon after the seeds emerged, (Have the central heating to suit !!) got some lovely pepper plants, just wish id have put some more in, eight each of six different varietys, trouble is with the, tomatoes and everything else its getting very cluttered up, still got ages until you can put them out!!! there will be fireworks soon with the other half already moaning like an old woman, lol.!!!!
