Can anyone tell me if ivy growing up my trees is OK or will it kill the tree

I don't think it kills trees??!! - it suckers on to them and if it is a young tree might not do it much good! ?

JoJo it's unlikely to harm your trees but please don't eat it - ivy is poisonous!
