My daughter is signed up for some kind of research programme into teenagers and as such I have just been interviewed by a lovely lady but she was delving into my chilhood and I'm telling her about how I was skinny and my mum worried about me and marched me off to the doctors regularly about it........anyway she gives me a form to sign to say they can look at my medical records and I'm signing my name leaning on a Weightwatchers magazine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o
Ho ho!
What's it all about Amanda? Is it about how teenagers are different now ?
I'm not sure really - they got 'recruited' at school! It's called "Roots" and they interview her and me and then she has other activities such as wearing a pedometer for a week - food diary - spitting(!) - this was fun - they had little test tubes and had to spit in them twice a day for a week. I had to keep it in the freezer (yuk!) until they were called in - it's surprising how much you can't get any saliva when you want some - took ages to get enough some days :-\
I think they follow her until she's 18 - ask her about her feelings, moods, family history etc etc. She gets paid £10 for every survey, interview or activity - which is a great incentive!
