Hi,

I would love some Ratte potatoes. I had some pink fir apple chiting away in the shed, but they have become mouse food! (I'll get that little critter!!!!!)

I'll pm you with my address. Can send you some seeds in return, if you have any requests? I grow mainly veg.

Hi John, got them from Tuckers
www.edwintucker.com (http://www.edwintucker.com)
I think lots of other places carry them too, if you get really stuck trying to get hold of them, PM me and I can probably let you have a couple.

Thanks for the offer DP, really kind.

I'm going to be really good and stick with what I've got, but it's handy to know for another year, and they might be a handy bargaining tool for all these fantastic swaps available  :D.

Hi Creckless

Sorry to hear that your potatoes became mouse food - but reading your email just reminded me that I had taken all my tatties into the shed to plant today and what with the rain etc never got around to them.  So I dashed through the rain down to my shed and rescued them.  They are now safely stashed in the kitchen.  Will have to remember not the leave the containers once planted up in the shed or else they will also end up mouse good!  How does one stop that?  I have never had this problem in South Africa and it is a new one for me.

I also have a mouse friend who has been nicking all my pumpkin seeds, squash seeds, pea seeds etc.   What with the mouse, the slugs, and the dog - if I manage to harvest anything this year I will feel the victor ;D

I hang anything like that from the shed roof; it's the only safe place!
