Title: Running old programmes
Post by: kenkew on March 17, 2006, 12:18:33
I have Win XP on this machine. Last week I bought an older CD programme which runs on Win 95, 98, NT and 2000. I didn't think I'd have a problem loading and running it. I can see the CD contents but the programme wont load or run. I didn't think I'd have a problem running older software on XP. Anyone come across this before?

Try this kenkew.

Find the file that launches the program and right click it (you may need the exe file not a shortcut to the exe file)
Select properties and the compatability tab,
Tick the box that says run in compatability mode (or some such thing) and from the drop down list select windows 98.

This may work, let us know.

hope this helps

Thanks for that Windy but the programme is actually a Dutch/English/Dutch learning programme!
