As hosepipe bans got covered elsewhere, I have changed the topic!!
According to the local Met report we should see 7 degs by 3p.m. on Saturday and 10 degrees by 3 p.m. on Sunday ;D Will wonders ever cease?!!
As it was trying to snow today I don't hold out much hope!!
Wow What a week end. The sun did get to 7 deg yesterday and 9.6 (all bar the shouting of the prediction) ;D
And what did you do with it I wonder?
I had very productive time ...
planted the peas out, planted out a batch of shallots, weeded the onions, weeded the PSB - shoots fast approaching 4" jolly-dee, and dug over the next patch for seed sowing.
Seeds in now include PSB for next year, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflowers. Also lettuce, spring onions, carrots and parsnips. Couldn't find the leeks.
In my enthusiasm loaded one car and jumped in and drove off to the lottie in another ::) ::) ::)
I'll get better soon! ;D
Oh Dear Oh Dear. Maybe we should have a collection to buy some flowers when they take flowerlady away ;D ???
Anyhow you certainly made the most of your time at the lottie
Here's my prediction.
It's going to rain.
;D
:o
What sunshine?
Metcheck reckon it's going to get warmer at the end of March/beginning of April. Fingers crossed. This is the latest spring I can remember (not that I've been keeping records).
Metcheck are predicting a whopping 19°C in my area for 31st march. 8)
...and snow for April 4th >:(
It is the 21st March and it has just finished snowing on the North East Coast. We keep having glimpses of Spring and then winter rears it's ugly head again. :( busy_lizzie
Metcheck have been vacillating over the weather for next weekend for days; they now think it's going to be mild with a soputherly breeze; a couple of days ago it was going to be cold with an easterly. Let's hope they're right this time, and it sticks.

Metcheck had forecast 19°C and sun for 31st March, now they have switched to 7°C and snow. Indeed they are now forecasting snow on and off for the whole first week of April.
With heavy rain all this week, and more frosts next week, I can see my digging falling behind even further.
My local area forecast is for sun, 10C and easterly winds today. Right so far except we have got up to 11C - not bad as we crept up to a whopping 3C yesterday. The next 4 days are for heavy rain and stronger westerlies.
Poor old OH. He has a lot of heavy pots to lift on Saturday, we're out till the small hours on Saturday evening and he then has to get up early to run a golf competition on Sunday and will also lose an hour's sleep. I shall stay in the potting shed and put up some obelisks ready for a dry spell.

We were forecast 9°C max today, it reached 14°C in the shade, hopefully a trend to continue.
I just wish we could start working and planting. :'( :'(
???
Eeeek!!! Got jerusalem artichokes to put in tomorrow and apparently it will be raining......b*m!!!!!
;)
Well you won't need to water them in then ;D
And think of the lovely hot bath after ;D ;D ;D
Hm, we had a 20.5 yesterday, according to our temperature wossit.
..just wish we could have some sun with it, rather than cloudy grey rainy stuff.
Melanie
On Friday I dug some lovely trenches for my spuds, today I arrived at the allotment to plant my lovely spuds to discover the trenches flooded.
In the middle of a drought my plot floods. :'(
You're not alone amphi.
Told you it would rain ;D
The Met Office is saying -4 tomorrow night in darkest Essex. Maybe I won't have to dig that mustard in.
Well this morning was mild - warm even - and sunny. I looked forward to spending the afternoon planting. Went to the airport to drop off son and gdaughter and while there the snow started. Now it's very wet and windy with sunny intervals and snow on the hills. ???
Not a mention of rain today in the news or Metcheck - so it bucketed & blew for 2-3 hours!
We know that they are 40% right, so you stand a good chance of doing as well?
But I am heeding the frost threat that I put elsewhere.
Real April today, one minute brilliant sunshine the next heavy showers, and even some hailstones. It has turned very cold here and is much colder than yesterday. busy_lizzie
Quite a good day here in the Fens. Wind has had a chill to it but no rain and OK for gardening.
Clear blue skies here, sunny but chilly.
Wind chill down to -7 tonight :o
AND we got the hose pipe ban despite the fact that it's been wet ::)
