The_Snail
hee hee, i'm still in excited phase, and just gazing out the window.
so much to look watch whilst everything disappears under a thick blanket of the white stuff.
i've made sure the birdies can get to their food so just sitting here watching them now.
;D

Yes real Xmas card stuff here Mrs KP. If only the blizzard would die down I might even enjoy it. :( :o
My poor lad is off out to work this morning - says the landscape reminds him of the start of "The Empire Strikes Back".
Don't want to rub it in but we had nice blue sky and sunshine yesterday, rather overcast today. Must say pics look very picturesque.
But will it freeze a vine weevil to death?
Hope so
Brian
i love your wee bird landing GW
;D ;D ;D
Oooooh proper snow MrsKP...even on the washing line!! Ours is the urban "white bits with sludgy edges of grey" variety!!!
Shed is still lookin good!!!!
;)
Wow you lot! I am amazed at your snow pics, especially yours MrsKP! Here in Essex we had a few brief flurries yesterday, but I am relieved to say it came to nothing. Today has been very cold (2 degrees when we went for our walk) but the sun was out and the sky was blue. I don't want any more snow now please, I am hoping to get my spuds planted tomorrow! :-\
Not even a flutter here in Herts but OH SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bitter :o
We had quite deep drifts in Edinburgh but the wind has calmed, the temperature has risen and much of the snow has already melted.
Drat! Could've been a day off tomorrow! ;) ;)
ours is still there, only having thawed a tad. shed STILL has full roof of snow.
i'm beginning to dread tomorrow morning for work now. if this lot freezes, there'll be trouble out there.
still, it's been a fun day.
Loads of snow here in the North East. It hasn't stopped all day. I just hope it doesn't freeze over night too otherwise the roads will be trecherous tomorrow. busy_lizzie
Most of the snow has gone, but the gales are back and there's freezing rain falling.. what fun! ::)
Much to my kids disgust NO snow here...........we want some please! ;D
Love those pictures Gw and MrsKP .
extremely cold, but the majority of the snow gone now.
i could have suffered one more day of it proper before i let it melt. :'(
i'm just glad i had yesterday off work to enjoy it.
Got up this morning and guess what, it has snowed overnight. After it clearing yesterday quite quickly, back it comes again. Will this winter never be over? :( busy_lizzie
I agree with you there BL this winter has been long. I have never ever wearied so much for the spring as I do this year, this winter has been endless. Somehow I have found it colder as well. Normally our heating goes off 9.30 a.m. until 4.30 p.m. but not this winter, it has been on all day because its been so cold. So big big oil bills. Maybe next week we will have a nice mild spring day eh? something to look forward to. ::) ::) ::)
Me too Carol! Totally sick of it. With a bit of luck though perhaps once it goes this time it will herald fantastic Spring weather and warm sunny days. You can only hope can't you? :-\ busy_lizzie
At least this cold weather will hopefully kill off some nasty bugs.
The end maybe in sight, when tying up the Clematis armandii on sunday the ladybirds were coming out of hibernation!, whole thing was crawling with them ......... enough to gladden the heart!
Would you believe it!
Looking out of the window all the white fluffy stuff is back again ??? ??? ???
glow777 Thought we were going to get some in the Fens but still clear of snow, bitterly cold wind though.
Charlie used to deliver produce to stores in your area, I went a couple of times with him,. what a pretty area.
Lorna
:-\
Day before yesterday...the end of the snow
Yesterday and all night...drizzly rain
Now...drizzly rain threatening to turn into snow
WHEN CAN I GET ON MY PLOT AND DIG???????????????
Grrrrrrrrrrr
>:(
This is the first morning, for what seems like ages, that it is not snowing. The ground is clear and the frogs are back in the pond. Please tell me at last we have Spring! :D busy_lizzie
Most of us are lucky - some friends in Cumbria could still, as of yesterday, not open their front door!!
OK, clever clogs - nor the back one!!
The frustration is getting worse. GRRRRRRR ::)
snow forecast for tonight and we're flying south tomorrow afternoon.
hope the airport has listened ::)
snow disappeared here on Monday and noticed that my mini-daffodils are in full bloom ! Will try and get a piccy in the morning. They look as if they have been flowering for a week or so already and their beautiful yellow heads are a really cheery sight
My mini daffodils are in flower too but one lot is at the front door - south-facing and realtively warm in the reflected heat of the building and the other lot under an arch where again they're protected from the worst of the weather.
I do not believe it, Midnight, looked out and the snow is on again? will it never end.
:'( :'( :'(
Only a light covering here this morning :-\ :-\ :-\
But it's very cold, at this rate the soil will be warm enough for parsnip seeds in about June.
Have a look at the 14 day forecast on metcheck there's more to come next week!

it's trying hard here too. plenty of on/off big flake swirly stuff. got a flight leaving at 3.15 this afternoon. it wants to have stopped by then ...... puleese.
::)

Snowing here is South Yorks.. >:( Hibernation springs to mind :) :) Jiim

i'm going to quote you on that when i'm standing on the terraces on saturday freezin my wotsits off.
:D
what you going to watch Missus ?
snow flurries here high wind and NOT NICE
being a big game glory hunter, we're going to the biggest game of the day ...... the mighty Millwall vs Leicester :P. Another MUST win situation for the Wall (but it has been like that all season so Saturday won't be any different). :P
Our football message board are having a big get together after the match as one of our crew is over from Australia, so we thought it would be a good time to go down and visit. I mean, if he can make is from Aus, we had to make the effort from Glasgow eh ? ;D It's going to get messy :o
And while we're down we have to visit my nan, daughter, mum and dad, so it will be the usual whirlwind tour. tbh i can't wait to get back Monday night and start sowing.
everything's in the bath with the irrigation system set up (thanks Windy ;D), the birds have 5 days of food in the garden and if they eat it all today, then they're greedy wee things and it's their own fault if they run out. the outside plants have all been watered, and i think we're pretty near ready to rock and roll. so i can sit back with my cuppa and put my feet up ready for the taxi to get here.
you'd think with the way i've been running round all morning that we were going for a fortnight ! :o
if i don't get on somewhere over the weekend, have a wonderful weekend chaps and chapesses, i'll be missing you all.
;D
Mrs. KP. Hope you find some sunshine!! Have a good holiday, will take you ages to catch up on posts when you get back ;D
OMG!! Just read the rest of the posts.. no sunshine for you then, anyhow enjoy!!!!
And I thought it was just SHOPPING ;D ;D ;D
Sure they've gone by now......can imagine it's going to be a pretty liquid weekend - inside and out 8) (she's gonna need those dark glasses ) ;D
hurray - my toms & peppers have decided to germinate this morning ;) :) :D
booo - another fresh blanket of snow :-\ :'( :-[
You are all very lucky, we have had NO snow boo hoo! :'( My children are really fed up with it. In fact I told my husband yesterday that when we retire we are going to live somewhere that gets lots of snow! While you are probably all fed up with it, we would love just a little bit!
Looks like the end is in site.
Really bad frost here this morning - It's give -6 with a windchill of -10 (night temps)but looking at the week ahead Friday is up to 10C at night. About time too
:) ;) :D ;D :) ;) :D ;D :) :D ;D
Don't count your chickens.
It's not long ago when our route to the station was blocked by 3' of snow!!
I can garantee that the snow and Sub zero conditions will persist until at least Thursday - That's when the roofers will finish re-doing my roof and loft. Nothing like a piece of tarpaulin and a thin layer of lath & plaster to keep you in touch with external temperatures!
for a change in manchester it is sunny blue sky only marks in the sky are the plain lines
if i sit by the window its warm if i open the door its clod but at least the washing can go out I'm hoping it will warm up in time for collecting eldest from school 8) ;D
We had a heavy frost last night, ponds frozen yet again, - poor frogs! Beautiful sunny day here this morning with clear blue skies, but it is sooo cold. busy_lizzie
"oh no it's snow"?........oh no it's not ;D Beautiful day here in S. Brum today - gardened at a new client's garden from 10.30am - 4.00pm in brilliant sunshine. 3 fat robins for company and lunch in the sun. Downside..garden's in the flight path of Chanook helicopters bringing wounded from Iraq via Germany to our local hospital.....two came over today. Poor sods. :'(
Just make sure you're not in the next one - knowing your record!!
Don't know about snow, but it was 0C in the greenhouse again last night. It hasn't yet been above 3C.
Hard frost this morning But shock of the day the bbc forecast for the next 5 days shows no minus signs at all!
in fact its kinda warm
must book my holidays!
Gorgeous, beautiful sunny day today. Has Spring come at last to Whitley Bay? We have had so many stops and starts, It is hard to believe the lovely weather we are having today. Do hope tomorrow it all doesn't revert back to winter. :D busy_lizzie
This morning saw the first sign of summer...went to get my car from the lock-up early on and there was a ..huh!...workman?...lying in his wheelbarrow, facing the sun, fast asleep ;D ;D ;D
Pleased to say it is going to get warmer after next weekend. Thank goodness for that. But how long will it last???????
The_Snail
Beautiful sunny morning here. Minimum temperature in my greenhouse last night was 27f, when I came back from the allotment at midday having left both roof vents open when I went out it was 95f!!!!!!! ???
