Title: potato bags
Post by: littlegem on March 10, 2006, 09:49:23
I bought the exhibitioners potato offer from kitchen garden. 6 types of potatoes and exhbitioners bags. I don't want to exhibit, but i want to use the bags. I can't afford all that compost to fill the bags, I've read about no dig gardnening for tatties where u top them with straw, and i've read that you can do this with bags. Has anyone tried and what results did u get, also what fertiliser do i need cos abviously i'd be losing out on some nutrients with only using a minor amount of compost. Also thinking about doing this method at work with tyres (next door is a car garage with plenty of spare tyres).

Try topping up with grass cuttings - works well for me
