Title: Which size modules?
Post by: caroline7758 on March 06, 2006, 15:32:00
When sowing in trays with module inserts, which size do you prefer, or does it depend on what you are sowing? Just starting to sow some veg seeds & can't believe how many different sizes of inserts I've got! So far I've sown tomatoes & aubergines in half-trays with 12 modules in each.

I have actually started to move away from this method after using it for at least 5 years! I now tend to sprinkle some seeds into a single pot and cover with a small amount of compost. After germination I prick the seedlings out into individual pots. The method may seem to be more haphazard, but I seem to be getting better germination, this may just be an illusion, it is difficult to say, however I am not struggling so much for space.
