Title: Snowy Snowdon
Post by: Mimi on March 03, 2006, 11:09:07
The view from the kitchen window was amazing this morning...  We have had a fair amount of snow and then sunshine followed by hard -5 of frost overnight.  The snow covering Snowdon has frozen and the sun is reflecting off it.  This picture doesnt do it justice........its fantastic.   ;D   ;D

Mimi,what a gorgeous view...made my heart skip.

RC. Your pics are lovely. I like the crumpled hills/mountains at the fore of the first pic.

Mimi, what a fantastic view.  I'm feeling rather homesick now.

Photo's like these make me realise why I get depressed living in London! Haven't been to the Peaks for years, can feel a visit coming on...

Cheers,
Rob ;)

I'd love to move there - would like to be Mimi's neighbour even more.  However, my terraced house is wort about £90,000.  To move to the Peaks into an identicalish house, it would cost £250,000 :o.  What's more, you walk round these places at this time of year, and there are few lights on in the evenings.  It is the holiday home owners that have bought the property and pushed up the prices, and they are killing the places for the locals or others who want to move there to live and work.

I know that the govt are going to make it so people have to pay full council tax on second home but I think this forward thining measure will be far outweighed byt he fact that they have also made them tax deductable against income tax to encourage saving.  Typical double accounting.
