I have got pretty well all the seeds that I need for this year - except one. I prefer the long trailing type of courgette, but all I can find are bush varieties. Some packets do not say WHAT they are, but the spacing instructions - 24" each way indicates that they are bush type. I live in the wilds of Cumbria, the nearest place worthy of the name Garden Centre is 24 miles away - and they don't have any!
Could anyone suggest a source & variety, please?

Hello svengali :o 8), have you taken a look at Franchi's selection of zucchini? http://www.seedsofitaly.sagenet.co.uk/zucchini.htm
I would be tempted to try a vigorous non-bush variety from their collection. The seed is on the pricey side, but you do get lots and it has given me good germination rates in the past. If you wanted to give the ugly 'Gold Neck' zucchetta rugosa friulana a go, I can spare a few seeds if you pm me your addy :)
If you look in Franchi's pumpkin section, some of the long green ones cook like courgettes and will definitely sprawl.
Try Lidl. 79 p a packet. grew them last year and they did v well in reall rubbish compost!

If you see something you like at Franchi's website svengali, see if the new Italian Seed Company http://www.italianseedcompany.co.uk/new_page_5.htm offer them too. Franchi describe the plants better, so you have an idea what is a bush, but the ISC have a special offer of £1 per bag of seeds.
i like that seeds of italy, Not only a reasonable price for the seeds but they actually look good value for the money too i feel i got a good deal as i bought some spegetti squash from them
excellent
ok ok i know and have bought from netto too in fact i cleared the lot out of one shop flowers and all lol but for 20p you cant go wrong wrrrr 19 p sorry
I will recommend www.realseeds.co.uk. (http://www.realseeds.co.uk.) This year I've chosen some mini cucumbers and a squash. I think they'll be great and all are 'save some seeds for next year'.
Have now got things organised with Supersprout & Franchi. Incidentally, had some lettuce bolt last year - grew about 3 ft tall - looks as if they rivalled your Supersprouts! My daughter immediately christened them "Sellafield Lettuce" (about 30 miles away)
Oh the enchanting wit of the little ones, hope they lit up the plot nicely at night svengali ;)
