I'm SO PLEASED!
I protect them by attaching a sheet of fleece to the poles. But I have never found a suitable attachment. Now we have it - these are 3.5" overall with a throat of 1". Exactly right.
Look great - but where did you find them Tim? Please share!
Well that's a bit more classy than clothespegs and rubber bands tim - I'm wiv periwinkle, cough up, where did you find it? ???
I have seem them in Robert Dyas and some of the DIY sheds.

I've never seen them so small before. And non-rusting, unlike the ones the Farmers' Market use for their awnings.
www.rutlands.co.uk. P&P is sadly high.
Tim
They are about half the price here:

£2 per 6 clamps and only £2 post and packaging.

Sorry Tim.
For many things on line these days I use Froogle to help find the best deal. They only took seconds to find.I know technically they are not the same but are nearly so.
Good idea by the way though. I use large clothes pegs and they just about fit around a cane but do ping off from time to time!

wow these should fix the gales ;D thanks for the tips gentlemen ;D
Didn't know you could start runner beans this early... did you start them off in pots?
Nooooooo! I don't.
But even when planted out in early May, they need good cover.
hi, have seen them in poundland &other cheapo shops
Yes Tim they are very useful. We always used them to hold our sheets down on our market stalls. Funnily enough yesterday I popped down to Grandsons (mechanic) workshop and he had several on his tool rack, must ask him what he uses them for..
I bought some last week, varying sizes, 16 for 3.99 at Lidl's.
I should have looked!!
Trouble is, our nearest anything is 20 miles away & nothing is worth that effort.
