I've been here about a year now and in that time I reckon I've swapped seeds/plants with someone on average about once a week. Sometimes it's been a straight swap, sometimes they have sent me things receiving nothing in return and sometimes I've sent them something 'for nothing'. But what never ceases to amaze me is the trouble people go to packaging things carefully, give you growing instructions and to enclose wonderful notes of thanks or PMs, sometimes with the odd bit of personal information which makes it all so friendly. So I just want to say thank you to those who make this site what it is - and keep on swapping. ;D

I second that Georgie. In my experience, people on here are great. Not only the swaps and info, but also the emotional support. They are always there with words of support and sympathy when you need it. It constantly moves me how genuinely kind people are. I know there are dodgy people around on the internet, but this is a gem of a site, - long may it prosper. :-* busy_lizzie
Well said Georgie.
I was so moved and touched by the messages of support I received when I posted about my Aunt. I'd like to thank you all.
I do so enjoy coming and having a potter about on this site,I've learned loads of stuff, weeped for people's sadness and enjoyed a darned good laugh.
Woo hoo ...great init!! ;D ;D
The other thing I've noticed is how many people have a gardening connection to their address. Without giving anything away I've spotted: acacia, grounds, wood, heather, aspen, sedge, pines, greenfield and cedar to name just a few!
G xx
Georgie agree with everything you have said. I also have received seeds from quite a few members and more recently Eric has sent me some lovely snowdrops. Incidentally Georgie you were the first member to send me seeds, thanks!!!!
Lorna.
Georgie. PS... Have just noticed I have just passed my first anniversary on A4A I think you beat me by about a couple of weeks!!
I agree whole heartedly :) there are some lovely people on this board and like many i have done swaps and had some great support during my cancer.
I love to help anyone if i can and there are many on here who are the same.
The fact that we are all gardening mad helps to ;D
Nice, isn't it!

Georgie. PS... Have just noticed I have just passed my first anniversary on A4A I think you beat me by about a couple of weeks!!
A mere 11 days in fact, Lorna. ;D Hasn't time flown?
G xx
Yes Georgie the past year has flown, I don't feel any older than when I joined A4A!! A'hem I tell fibs as well ::)
I aggree, what a great site!
Yes, G, my first swap was also with you - the infamous Cape Gooseberries!
By the way, my first anniversary will be on 15th of this month - so how come you and Lorna are both Gods already, while I'm merely senior?...
...oh, of course - because I'm quieter...
(who says everyone on the site's nice?)
;D ;D ;D
In that case I am a mere baby of nine months ;D But I too would like to add my appreciation, and heartfelt thanks.
I have never experienced anything quite like this before, and when there are troubles at home, (and mine pale into insignificance by comparison to others) it is always so good to come and chat to a friend.
So everybody - give yourselves a big hug :-*.
.... thank you.
This is my first and only online community, and it's wonderful. I've learned so much and enjoyed the company here, it's a great motivator to get down on the plot and share the resulting wailing/bragging with people who don't think you're loooopy 8) hooray!
Whilst I have not involved myself in the forum swapshop, I have experienced the genuine warmth and cameraderie shown by the membership. My gardening is a bit limited at the moment, due to a plot resembling a Siberian landscape, and other personal issues requiring my attention, but all you guys are keeping me motivated and focussed.
My thanks too.
in that case Curry ... catch up ... see you in the swap shop ;D list your wish list ... flowerpower to the rescue !!!!
Amazin Oh dear maybe I chat too much. My excuse is that since retiring I have lots more time to do my thing. Having said that according to your profile you must also be retired!!!!!!!!!
106?
Lorna you will be pleased to know that all you tomato seeds are growing a blast ;D They look a treat on my windowcill. ;)
Flowerlady. That's nice to hear, thanks for taking the trouble to let me know. Hope you have bumper crops. I have left a lot of my seed sowing until the 13th March as I WAS going to Kent to my sister's for a week but due to unpredictable weather have cancelled visit so will get sowing next week.
Lorna.
First time I ever came onto a site was this one, and am so glad, enjoy it a lot!
