i hit B&Q this afternoon at 4pm.
at 4.25 and £39 later, i humped about a tonne of various sand/grit/improver/manure/topsoil into my boot ON MY OWN.
having nearly cracked the chassis and my back moving it all into the back garden, i started digging until it was too dark to see.
the quest continues tomorrow.
once i've got one of the beds done, i shall go in search of the economy products and build no. 2.
I needed SOMETHING, and i needed it then.
thank goodness for plastic :P
and to top it off loads of seeds arrived, i can now join in with the broad bean threads.
;D
So true! Isn't it strange how B & Q becomes more appealing than M & S ;D
it's been my favourite store for some considerable time now ......... (how i wish they did loyalty cards).
helpful hint .... the big flat bed trolleys should be pulled not pushed. a nice man told me so ;D
Yes Mrs KP LOL I learnt that the hard way ;D ;D ;D ;D
if we don't learn something new every day, we are nothing !!! ;D
so......... tell me how you chaps and chappesses put that wee location map thing on your profile page :P
Mine appeared as if by magic when I entered my plot in the Members Map (see top of page)!!
Lol Mrs KP I keep wanting to say Mrs Nuts ( you know KP Nuts - really sorry :-[ :D
you wouldn't believe it would you (aye you would) if i told you we actually have a member of our group called KP Nuts !!! I'm not sure what he'd say about the missus bit though.
the KP stands for Kinning Park (Glasgow South Side before I moved to Hillington). But I've been MrsKP now for so long, i can't change it ;D

You must be loaded. Whats up with your builders merchants, cheap and usually delivered free.
cost me £20 to have two huge tubby bags of stuff delivered for the shed base from local builders merchants. £39 i can justify in my head ....£180 for a two tubbies of other stuff i couldn't.
Well, it's a lovely dry day ....... best i get out there.
;D
Look in Yellow Pages for Seed Merchants/ Farmers Supplies, you find that many of them stock compost, bark, and fencing posts, treated timber et. Always cheaper than DIY Stores, and very knowledgable too.
Brian
Have a good day digging! ;D
cuppa break ! it's still solid and sticky out there but i think at long last i've got a level.
this is hard work ;D

If you "grab a granny" on Wednesdays - you can get 10% off. I have become very popular on Wednesdays since I got my B&Q discount card.
Thank you gardenantics, that suggestion alone is worth its Weight in Gold! ;D ;D ;D
