Thats a great pic Eric, but, I cant help feeling that the Bird is sick.  I have noticed greenfinches looking like that are all puffed up and sleepy.  They are in fact sick with salmonella, which they are prone to taking, hope not but have seen so many like that.

We wondered if it was ill. We see a lot of pigeons like that. In a garden this size, the chances of finding the body are rather slim. Pity though.

When I have a sick/dying finch, they seem to want to press into a corner of a wall and I have had quite a few of them dying against the corner at my back door.  Poor little things.  I try my best to keep the feeding areas clean which is very important and clean water.  I disinfect the areas once I have had a dead finch.
