Title: How to take cuttings from an old Rosemary bush
Post by: Berty on February 08, 2006, 13:56:28
The garden of our new house has a huge Rosemary bush. It has become leggy and unruly so I thought I might be able to take some cuttings before I dispose of the monster.

I assume I can take cuttings. Where should the cutting be taken from?

Rosemary are dead easy to do but later in the season with semi ripe cuttings.

See here for instructions:

You might get away doing it earlier with new growth in May/June.

I shall be trying to get some of mine to strike round about then too.

I believe you can also replant rosemary deeper, leaving the younger less leggy shoots above the ground.
