Title: A Partridge in a pear tree
Post by: Paulines7 on February 08, 2006, 11:43:43
Well, not exactly as the song goes, but under the apple and pear trees in the orchard area.   ;)   More than one too, in fact probably about 20.  They are French Partridges, but when I sneaked outside with my camera to say "Bonjour", they all flew off.    :'(       Fortunately I had already taken some pics from the window as the last ones were making their way to the mini orchard.  ;D

Well done Pauline - nicely captured!!!!   ;D I also see you've got a bit of the 'yellow stuff' there.  :D How about sending some of it up to Scotland as we very rarely see the sun here.  :(

Eileen, it is the first time we have seen the sun here for a couple of weeks.  When we lived in Ganavan near Oban on the west coast of scotland, we had lovely sunny days at this time of year.  It was during the summer and autumn that the waterproofs came out of the closet and it always seemed to be colder then than during the winter.  :(   At this time of year we used to do a lot of birdwatching along the coastline near Oban where oyster-catchers and other shoreland birds would be in great abundance.
